Japanese publisher Seiwa Shoten has released a Japanese-language edition of Overcoming Prescription Drug Addiction, published by Addicus Books. The author is Rod Colvin. The foreign rights sale was handled by the Susan Schulman Literary Agency in New York.
Author of Evil Harvest Appears on Oxygen Channel
In early February, Addicus Books publisher Rod Colvin was interviewed for an episode of the Oxygen Channel’s five-part series, “Deadly Cults.” The third episode, “The Rulo Killers,” was based on the book, Evil Harvest:The True Story of Cult Murder in the American Heartland, by Rod Colvin.

True Crime Still Selling Two Decades Later
Evil Harvest, the True Story of Cult Murder in the American Heartland, is still selling twenty-six years after it was first published. The true crime work, by Rod Colvin, was first published by Bantam Books as a mass-market paperback in 1992. Addicus Books published the book as a trade paperback in 1997. Author Rod Colvin said, “I am pleased that this book still sells as a paperback and as an e-book. It is especially popular in the Midwest, where the story took place.”
Addicus Publisher Featured in Publishers’ Magazine
Addicus Books Publisher Rod Colvin is featured in a recent issue of the Independent, a publication of the Independent Book Publishers Association. In the article, Colvin talks about the importance of crafting newsworthy angles and strategically pitching stories that focus less on the book and more on the content journalists seek. He cites how Addicus author, Steven Peskind, author of Divorce in Illinois, was invited to appear on a Sunday morning show on WGN TV in Chicago, one of the largest TV markets in the nation. Dennis Ryan Featured in Investigation Discovery Channel (ID) Program
Dennis Ryan was a teenager when his father, Mike Ryan, became a cult leader on a Nebraska farm in the mid-80s. The cult became notorious after it was discovered that two people had been murdered on the farm. The story is told in Evil Harvest—The True Story of Cult Murder in the American Heartland, written by Rod Colvin.
In February, the Investigation Discovery Channel (ID) aired an episode of their program Evil Resides Here, called “Son of the Prophet,” featuring Dennis Ryan. The program premiered on Wednesday, February 12, at 10:00 P.M. The episode may be watched with the Investigation Discovery Go app or online here.
