Author Signed for New Title on Coronary Heart Disease
Addicus Books has just signed an author for Coronary Heart Disease—A Guide to Diagnosis and Treatment, scheduled for release in the Spring 2001. Author Barry Cohen, M.D., a cardiologist, is one of the founding physicians at Mid-Atlantic Cardiology in New Jersey. He’s also president of the Heart & Vascular Research Institute, which oversees clinical studies related to the heart and peripheral circulation.
Books Sold Would Reach Top of 38-Story Building
Ernie Lageson, author of Battle at Alcatraz—A Desperate Attempt to Escape the Rock, continues making weekly appearances at the bookstore on Alcatraz Island, where he signs copies of his book for tourists. During a recent appearance, bookstore manager Stan Zibowski told him that “if the copies sold since 1999 were stacked, they would be as tall as a 38-story building.” Lageson’s father was one of the guards taken captive during the infamous 1946 escape attempt by four inmates.
Author Susan Adams Featured in Magazine
Susan Adams, author of The Marital Compatibility Test and The Family Compatibility Test, is featured in the cover story in the August issue of Today’s Omaha Woman. Adams is among several writers interviewed in the story about area women authors.
New Book on Prescription Drug Addiction in Progress
Author Rod Colvin is putting the finishing touches a new edition of his previous book, Prescription Drug Abuse—The Hidden Epidemic (Addicus Books 1995.) The new edition, Overcoming Prescription Drug Addiction, includes a variety of new topics, including chapters on treatment and support for families.
