Connie M. Smith, J.D., began her legal career by obtaining an associate’s degree in paralegal studies from Northeast Mississippi Community College. Smith worked as a paralegal for nearly ten years. After going through her own divorce, she decided to follow through with her dream of going to law school. As a single mother, Smith worked full time and took a full course load to obtain her undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi. Immediately after obtaining her degree, Smith was accepted into law school and graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2007. Since then she has worked as an associate with ShowsPowell PLLC where her focus is on family law. Smith is especially passionate about her work as a guardian ad litem and representing victims of domestic violence.
