Jennifer L. Knops, Esq., is an attorney at Schoenberg Family Law Group, P.C., in San Francisco, California. Ms. Knops started her experience in family law with Debra Schoenberg as a paralegal prior to attending law school and is now in her second decade of working with Ms. Schoenberg.
Ms. Knops graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in philosophy and a minor in speech and communication. While an undergraduate, Ms. Knops was a member of the Lawrence Debate Union, during which time she received numerous awards and recognition for her speech and debate skills. Thereafter, Ms. Knops remained involved with the LDU for many years as an alumni coach and judge.
Ms. Knops earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She also received a Certificate of Advanced Study in Health Law with a concentration in bioethics and health and human rights. Ms. Knops was inducted into the Order of Barristers, a national organization recognizing excellence in courtroom skills and advocacy. She also codeveloped and implemented a co-curricular program in which law students teach health and human rights law to local area middle and high school students.
Ms. Knops practices family law exclusively, and her primary focus is on complex financial and procedural matters, trial preparation, and appeals. Ms. Knops is a savvy researcher, persuasive writer, and creative problem solver with strong advocacy skills. She has amassed an encyclopedic knowledge of the law, using creativity and logic to effectively tackle the most complex negotiations. Ms. Knops’s skill and experience are the cornerstone in her ability to connect and help her clients successfully navigate their family law matters. Ms. Knops shares Ms. Schoenberg’s enthusiasm for the practice of family law, valuing the ability to bear witness to the nuances of humanity unfolding on a daily basis.
