Steven H. Schechter, M.D., is a neurologist in West Bloomfield, Michigan. He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr. Schechter is also an associate professor of neurology at both Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
A 1987 graduate of the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Dr. Schechter completed residencies in neurology at Henry Ford Hospital and Wayne State University School of Medicine and a postdoctoral fellowship in neurophysiology at the University of Michigan. He has been in practice since 1987 and has been affiliated with William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan, in neurology since 1992.
Dr. Schechter is also a registered yoga instructor and often incorporates yoga and meditation as part of an integrative treatment regimen for his patients. Dr. Schechter says yoga has physical, mental and spiritual benefits that strengthen the body, and calms the mind.
