Michael H. Safir, M.D., is a reconstructive urologist in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. He currently serves as Chairman of Surgery at West Hills Hospital and is Director of the Center for Reconstructive Surgery at Miracle Mile Medical Center.
Dr. Safir is a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School (Honors Program in Medical Education). He completed his residency in urology at the same institution. Following residency training, he completed fellowship training at the University of California , San Francisco and UCLA Medical Schools in the fields of reconstructive urology and female urology. Dr. Safir served as a clinical instructor at UCSF and UCLA Medical Schools and served as Assistant Professor and Section Chief of Reconstructive and Female Urology at New York Medical College .
Dr. Safir specializes in the treatment of urinary incontinence, repair of pelvic prolapse and reconstructive genito-urinary surgery. He is the co-author of many textbook chapters, including a chapter in The Oxford Textbook of Surgery on urinary disorders. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Robyn, and two children.
