Doctor Marion Somers has spent the last thirty years as an elder care specialist, dispensing strategies and advice to make life easier for both caregivers and aging loved ones. A nationally recognized geriatric care manager, consultant, professor, and panelist, Doctor Somers owns and operates a private geriatric care management practice in New York City.
Doctor Somers graduated with honors from City College in New York, and received a master of science degree in recreation therapy from Lehman College in New York; she received a Ph.D. in human and organizational development with specialization in gerontology, retirement, and special populations from the Fielding Institute in Santa Barbara, CA. Doctor Somers is also trained as a New York State Nursing Home Administrator and was the Director of the professional geriatric care management certificate program at Hunter College’s Brookdale Center on Aging.
