Jerrold R. Zeitels, M.D., is a plastic surgeon in private practice in Westfield, New Jersey. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1976 and received his medical degree from the University of Chicago in 1980. He completed a five-year General Surgery Residency at the University of Michigan and finished his Plastic Surgical Residency in 1987 at the University of Pennsylvania . Dr. Zeitels is in private practice as a partner with Associates in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery with offices in Westfield , Summit and Warren , New Jersey .
He has served as president of the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons and has also served on certification boards. In 2000, he was honored by the New Jersey State Legislature for his humanitarian work and received the Sergio Award form Heal the Children, Mid-Atlantic Inc. for his volunteer surgical efforts on behalf of children in underdeveloped countries.
Dr. Zeitels has presented and published several papers and is a member of multiple professional organizations. He has been listed in various Best Doctors editions and holds a United States patent for an endoscopic instrument
Dr. Zeitels and his wife Susan have been married for nearly twenty-five years and have three children, Lauren, Rebecca, and Jonathan. Lauren and Rebecca are following in their fathers footsteps by attending the University of Pennsylvania and Jonathan age 8, is a great Yankees fan. Dr. Zeitels travels extensively for pleasure and has been an active participant in amateur basketball tournaments around the world.
