William Becker, D.D.S., M.S.D., is a board-certified periodontist in private practice in Tucson, Arizona. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and has served as a board director. Becker, together with his brother, Dr. Burton Becker, has twice been awarded the prestigious Clinical Research Award from the American Academy of Periodontology. Beck is past president of the Southern Arizona Dental Society and the American Academy of Periodontology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and a member of the National Academy of Practitioners.
Becker is a clinical professor of periodontology at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in Los Angeles, California. He was the Schluger Professor at the University of Washington in Seattle during 1993-94 and is presently an affiliate Professor at the University of Washington. Becker has authored over 80 studies relating to periodontal therapy or dental implants and has lectured throughout the United States, Europe, the Far East and the Middle East. He is co-editor Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research.
Becker graduated from Marquette Dental School and completed his specialty training in periodontology and received a Master of Science Degree from Baylor College of Dentistry. In November of 1996 he received an Honorary Doctorate in Odontology from Gothenburg University in Gothenburg, Sweden.
