Peter S. Wöhrle, D.M.D., is a board-certified prosthodontist in Newport Beach, California. In his private practice, he focuses on the insertion, restoration and maintenance of dental implants.
Wöhrle graduated cum laude from Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he was the recipient of the Norman B. Nesbett Award for clinical excellence. After additional years of training, he also received Specialty Certificates in Prosthodontics and in Implant Dentistry. In addition, Dr. Wöhrle holds a Master of Medical Sciences degree in from Harvard University, and is a Diplomate, American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. Dr. Wöhrle received his bachelor arts degree in Germany and is a Swiss certified Dental Laboratory Technician.
While at Harvard, Wöhrle was involved in the National Institute of Health (NIH) funded clinical trial on dental implants. As part of his thesis, he helped to develop new research designs capable of showing differences between implant systems. He also was involved in teaching implant dentistry to dental students, and to dentists through the Harvard Seminars in Implant Dentistry Continuing Education Series. Currently, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Advanced Prosthodontics at the University of Southern California, as well as the Associate Editor of the Journal of Oral Implantology. Dr. Wöhrle’s research interests focus on clinical trials research and prosthodontic issues interfacing with implant dentistry.
