Dr. Lawrence M. Hopp is a graduate of the Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science where he completed a combined medical and graduate school program receiving both M.D. and M.S. degrees. After medical school he completed a fellowship at the Doheny Eye Institute at the University of Southern California which was followed by an ophthalmology residency at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and then a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at the University of Texas in San Antonio.
He is currently on the clinical faculty at the Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, is an attending physician at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and is in private practice at the Beverly Hills Center for Vision Correction in Beverly Hills, California. He specializes in cornea and external eye diseases and surgery and offers collagen cross-linking for patients with progressive keratoconus and post-LASIK ectasia.
He is an invited lecturer on topics of cornea diseases and refractive surgery at universities and international conferences and has been awarded the best speaker award at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery meeting. He has also taught at the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology meetings.
